What technology does WON Communications use?

Fixed Wireless is a microwave-based technology that allows you to send and receive high-speed data between two fixed sites or locations. It is not mobile technology and should not be confused with it. Nor is it WIFI where bandwidth is shared on a “one to many” basis. Fixed Wireless is a broadband service that delivers robust and dedicated bandwidth. There are many compelling advantages for fixed wireless as compared to wired services such as fast installation free from trenching and construction, scalable bandwidth, true path and network diversity and easy Ethernet hand off.

Is WON Satellite?

No. Although the service is wireless, WON only transmits the signal a very short distance, typically from your office to a tall building or nearby tower.

Can I add additional bandwidth to my WON Business Internet Service?

In most cases, yes. We are a growing network and not all capacities are readily available but we can make a connection that will fit your needs.

How quickly can my business Internet service be installed?

In as little as 24 hours up to 2 weeks, depending on our workload and network availability. We will let you know a precise time after a brief site survey and consult on your requirements.

Does WON provide broadband for events or short-term connectivity?

Yes. Because WON has been designed for superior performance and installation ease, many hotels, meeting planners, and organizations have used WON Event Services to enhance their meetings and events. Please use our contact page to plan your next event.

Are there any loop charges or taxes?

No, that’s one of the many benefits of choosing WON broadband. You will never see any local loop charges or taxes that you see from the phone companies.

Will WON connect two or more of my locations with private, point-to-point connections?

Yes. WON can provide a building to building line of sight private circuit. Please contact the sales department with your specific needs.

Does WON require a service contract?

In most cases our service is your contract. Either we provide what you want or you find someone who will. Only need for a contract is if we agree to float any upfront equipment or installation costs in order to get you connected. Beyond that, you are free to find and acquire the best services for your company.

Can I use a WON connection for VOIP?

Yes. WON engineered its broadband network for stability and speed so it will handle your most robust business applications, including VOIP. With superior uptime, low levels of latency, jitter and packet loss, WON business Internet service is well suited for VOIP.

Can I move my WON service?

If you move to another home or your office location moves and you are within the coverage area we can move your service, however, a move fee is required.
